To be honest , I can't really say what separates it from the rest. VSO is definitely a no brainer for converting and burning DVDs, so that's probably it's real advantage. It's very easy to configure and work with. I still find the interface a bit simplistic but that's not really what you ask of it I guess. It supports a lot of formats and has good compression rates, but you get that with all burners nowadays.

Worst:

a bit slow
i don't like the interface-too simplistic
